The Four Main Seasons

Fashion is split into (4) four main seasons and (2) two crossover seasons.

The four major seasons are as we know and are familiar with are Spring and Summer, Fall and Winter.

The two Crossover Seasons are Pre-Fall and Resort.

Main Intake per Season

Spring and Summer Intake starts in early February through end of May.

Fall and Winter Intake starts Mid August through late October.

Pre-Fall collections appear in stores a little before Fall and Winter intake, approximately Early August.

Resort intake can start as early as early October and can carry on through mid December.

What are Resort Fashions you might ask?

When you hear the term tropical vacation and cruising, you think it’s an easy pack — bathing suits, cover-ups, flip flops and sunscreen, but resort season can be especially confusing, its wintertime and here we are were selling warm-weather clothing and doesn’t the merchandise look a lot like summer wear?

But with vacations to those exotic destinations during the winter months the styles and fabrics are and can be different to what is available during the summer season.

With the tropics the weather and climate are definitely different, calling for outfits that are light and airy that can be dressed up or down, fabrics like cottons, washable linens, rayon, then add yourself some good basics, such as cotton tank tops, tissue light T-shirts, while keeping the colour palette to neutrals –white, ivory, khaki and earth tones for daytime.

These are sun-reflective colors and help to keep your skin cool.

Drawstring linen pants, lightweight harem pants, and flowing dresses which are comfy and chic, teamed up with some bright coloured pieces of jewellery along with a classic pair of sandals, while not forgetting the essential sun hat to complete the look, you’ve got your resort and cruise wardrobe ready to pack.
