The Concept
Never underestimate small beginnings.
Owner and operator Maureen Tillett took an early retirement from the fast-paced world of Corporate Retail, where she spent 35 years plus in the field of instore-management and store operations.
And with over 50 years of working within the retail sector spanning over three (3) different continents, Maureen has gained significant knowledge of the retail fashion sector, making her more than qualified within this field to help others in finding their perfect fashion items at affordable pricing.
The original boutique was 500 square feet of retail space in the picturesque vibrant village of Ridgeway Ontario, After four (4) years of operating her first independent Boutique in Ridgeway Ontario, Maureen decided to return to her secondary roots and relocated the Boutique back to Burlington, now in her second location in Burlington at Unit 4- 100 Plains Road West Burlington, which is a 1600 square foot facility (just a wee bit bigger) in the heart of the community of Aldershot.

The Business History
The First Store
The original “A Renaissance Woman” was located at 301 Ridge Road North in the Historic Village of Ridgeway Ontario.
Originally opened in May 2013 and after a wonderful four years of operation was closed permanently on June 30th 2017, it was a hard decision to do so after being so warmly welcomed into the community and meeting some lovely clients and building some great friendships along the way.
The Second Store
However, Burlington was calling Maureen back home – so she made the big decision to re-locate back to her roots, and logistically it was hard to oversee the Ridgeway location from a distance. Maureen then re-located back to Burlington in 2016 and embarked on her second boutique. It was a much larger facility of 2040 square foot with the selling space of approximately 1650 square foot. It served the company well and was the foundation of what was to come… Fast forward to NOW!
The Current Store
February 25th 2020 we opened a ‘Brand New Build – Specifically Designed with You in Mind!’

This boutique setting is intimate, relaxing, with a no pressure atmosphere a fun place to browse, shop, mingle, and check out all the latest arrivals which come in on a regular basis so drop by anytime you are always welcome to check us out and allow yourself some retail therapy.
A Renaissance Woman features a lovely sitting area to rest awhile if you so choose, so husbands, partners and those special friends are more than welcome to enjoy the boutique atmosphere while they wait.
