The original “A Renaissance Woman” was a long awaited dream of Maureen Tillett
After 35+ years of CORPORATE retail experience she’d dreamed of having her own business, coming up to retirement age – it was a ‘now-or-never’ lets do it moment. and she did! With lots of help from friends and family, the dream became a reality in May 2013 when Maureen opened her very first store and she has never looked back!
The Concept of “A Renaissance Woman”
It’s an upscale consignment boutique which offers the finest in new and gently loved designer and quality brand name clothing, a year round cruise wear section along with formal and special occasion dressing, shoes, purses, fashion and fine jewelry, along with the accompanying accessories all for a fraction of their original retail price. You may never want to shop retail again.
The original “A Renaissance Woman” was located at 301 Ridge Road North in the Historic Village of Ridgeway Ontario.
Originally opened in May 2013 and after a wonderful four years of operation was closed permanently on June 30th 2017, it was a hard decision to do so after being so warmly welcomed into the community and meeting some lovely clients and building some great friendships along the way.
However, Burlington was calling Maureen back home – so she made the big decision to re-locate back to her roots, and logistically it was hard to oversee the Ridgeway location from a distance.
Maureen then re-located back to Burlington in 2016 and embarked on her second boutique.
It was a much larger facility of 2040 square foot with the selling space of approximately 1650 square foot. It served the company well and was the foundation of what was to come… Fast forward to NOW!
February 25th 2020 we opened a ‘Brand New Build – Specifically Designed with You in Mind!’
This boutique setting is intimate, relaxing, with a no pressure atmosphere a fun place to browse, shop, mingle, and check out all the latest arrivals which come in on a regular basis so drop by anytime you are always welcome to check us out and allow yourself some retail therapy.
A Renaissance Woman has a lovely sitting area to rest awhile if you so choose, so husbands, partners and those special friends are more than welcome to enjoy the boutique atmosphere while they wait.
We also have an official greeter when on duty and not sleeping in his bed, the in-house mascot Yoshi a very friendly 16 year old Shih-Tzu who loves people and all the attention he is given.
Although definitely showing his age now, having total hearing loss along with diminished sight seeing only shadow’s but he still loves to get up out of his bed and come to greet you.
One function he hasn’t lost is his ability to smell, he can smell food a mile off, just drop by anytime around lunchtime you’ll see him hovering and very much alert, he doesn’t need hearing or sight to follow his nose:)
